The most common ticks in this area are the dog tick and the deer tick.  Tickinfo.com will help you identify any tick you may find on you or your animals.

We strongly suggest you treat your animals with Frontline or Nexguard to keep ticks from infecting your animals (remember these are not repellents, but they will keep the ticks from living long enough to infect your dog or cat with any disease they may carry).  If you wish to use a repellent, we carry Vectra.  (Vectra and Nexguard cannot be used on cats.)
